A Look Back At The 2009 Maryann Mitts Summer Basketball Camps
For any athlete growing up the month of June can only mean one thing...CAMPS!!! Well that is no different for our program and just this last week we wrapped up the 2009 edition of the Maryann Mitts Summer Camps. With over 500 athletes on our campus from June 8th to June 24th, it's safe to say that our 5 camps were a HUGE SUCCESS!!
Our Mission is...
to be the best instructional camp in the Midwest! We want to teach the game of basketball to the young women of our community in such a way that exudes the passion and energy that we believe the game should be played with.
Why?
The people involved in our program understand that the game of basketball has been so good to all of us and it is our duty and privilege to give that gift back to the young women of our community.
Who works at the camp?
We believe one of the things that makes our camps so successful is that Coach Mitts is the face of the camp. She is on the floor teaching and coaching from the moment camp starts with the Lil Lions (K-4th graders) until the final whistle blows on team camp. In addition to Coach Mitts, our entire coaching staff and the majority of our current roster are on the floor ensuring that the participants of our camp are taught how to play the game correctly and at a very high level.
We ran 5 camps this summer:
Lil Lions (K-4th graders)
Young Players (5th-8th graders)
Shooting Camp (4th-12th graders)
High School Camp (9th-12th graders)
Team Camp (3 divisions)
Congrats to the winners of each division of our Team Camp!!!
Green--Edmond Santa Fe (OK)
Gold----Chadwick (MO)
White---Choctaw III (OK)
It is our sincere hope that everyone who attended our camps this summer got far more than they paid for. We understand that in these times people can chose to spend their money in many different places...we appreciate that you trusted us to teach the game of basketball at a very high level. So as this camp season comes to a close we hope that you had a GREAT experience this summer and that you are already making your plans to attend next summer!!!
